GP surgeries will be closed on bank holidays. For urgent medical advice when your GP surgery is closed call the Out of Hours Service on 0845 600 10 13. In an emergency do not hesitate, call 999 for an ambulance.

Weymouth Community Health Centre accepts all patients either through self referral or GP referral.
The centre is situated at Weymouth Community Hospital, Melcombe Avenue, Weymouth, DT4 7TB. Open 8am to 8pm seven days a week.

Dental surgeries
If dental surgeries which offer NHS services are closed during the bank holidays on days they would otherwise be open, details of nearby dental care will be available via the practice answer-machine
In addition, the Dorset Urgent Care Dental Service (UCDS) will operate its usual service throughout the holiday period, including offering clinics at weekends and on all bank or public holidays. The UCDS offers urgent dental care and/or advice and is contactable on 0845 7010401.

All clinics deal with routine and emergency contraception for all age groups including under 25 years. Emergency contraception (also known as “Morning After Pill”) and advice is available when the usual method of protection may have failed or intercourse has been unprotected. The time limit for this is 72 hours but advice should be sought as early as possible. (Condoms are available to clinic patients.) N.B. ADVICE AND TREATMENT IS FREE OF CHARGE
