Community nursing
Community nursing is how we describe nursing care provided to you in your own community or home, away from a hospital.
Our nurses work with other professionals from different organisations, eg. social services. You may obtain the services they provide either by contacting them direct or through hospital consultants or your GP.
Some of our other specialist nurses work in these areas:
- palliative care
- continence
- stoma care
- community psychiatric nursing
- diabetes
- Parkinson's disease
- respiratory disease
- school nursing
- infection control
Community nurses work in partnership with social services, police, housing associations, local councils and volunteer agencies.
