Professional Executive Committee (PEC)

The PEC is accountable to the Trust Board. It comprises all the Trust executive directors and the lead GPs from each of the localities. It is currently chaired by Dr. Forbes Watson, GP from Lyme Regis.

The role of the PEC is to provide clinical input and support the Board in

• developing and implementing its vision and strategic objectives
• commissioning a comprehensive and equitable range of efficient and responsive services
• determining clinical priorities
• delivering clinical effectiveness and governance
• communicating with partners and stakeholders.

The PEC's role will soon be undertaken by the shadow GP Commissioning Group that has been established following the government’s Liberating the NHS initiative.
