Keeping children safe
The PCT cluster is assured that all requirements are in place in line with the recommendations of the Care Quality Commission to ensure that systems and processes are in place to safeguard children and young people with the following organisations from whom we commission services:
- Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust
- Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust
- Bournemouth and Poole Community Health Services
- Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust
The cluster has a robust system and action plan in place with all primary care practitioners, including General Practitioners, pharmacists, optometrists and dental practitioners to ensure their training in safeguarding children and young people is current and they meet all the standards required in Working Together to Safeguard Children.
The cluster monitors the delivery of all safeguarding activity with these organisations through our quarterly Performance and Quality Monitoring Meetings and periodic visits to independent contractors. A safeguarding progress report is also received by the Board.
The cluster is a member of the multi agency Local Safeguarding Children Board. Details of the work of the Local Safeguarding Children Board can be found at: www.bournemouth-poole-lscb.org.uk
This declaration will be reviewed on an annual basis.
