What is the Dorset Data Atlas?

It's an interactive mapping tool enabling you to view Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) indicators in map, chart and tabular formats. In addition to the indicators specified for the JSNA minimum dataset, the atlas also includes other useful indicators.

The atlas contains themed maps, data tables, trend tables, graphs, allowing you to understand the spatial patterns and temporal trends for a specific indicator or area of interest.

To use the interactive mapping tool, select an indicator from the drop-down menu opened with the ‘data’ button in the top left corner. Use the available choices to create a map of this indicator for Dorset. The data button lists the available choices, for example, themes, indicators and time periods including: Live Births, Rate per 1000 births listed by year.

Open the themes link to expand or collapse the choices. Select an indicator to load new data. Choose areas from the table in the top right corner or by interacting with an area in the map to highlight geographic areas. Access the name of a geographic area to select the area. The selected geographic area will be shaded green. A graph of the selected area’s data over time is displayed.

Indicators are organised within the atlas by the themes shown in useful websites. Start viewing maps and data by opening the links shown for one of the themes available.
